How Does Hydroflow Work

Learn and understand the technology behind HydroFlow products

How Hydrpath Technology Prevents Scale Build-Up in Pipes and Equipment

Hydropath technology powers HydroFLOW water conditioners, offering an efficient and non-intrusive electronic descaling solution for homes and businesses. These devices are installed on the cold water line and treat fluids by generating a 150kHz signal that travels through plumbing systems of any material, including PEX and PVC.

The electrical signals cause mineral ions to form suspended clusters, which turn into stable crystals when temperature or pressure changes occur. These suspended crystals prevent scale build-up in pipes and on heating elements, improving heat transfer efficiency, lowering maintenance costs, and reducing chemical usage. Applications include plumbing systems, water heaters, boilers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, belt filter presses, wells, and pumps. HydroFLOW is widely used in residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural sectors.

Unlike other products that treat liquids at a single point in the system, HydroFLOW offers continuous water conditioning, ensuring a consistent and lasting effect throughout. Thanks to its unique, non-intrusive design, HydroFLOW doesn't introduce any chemicals into your water supply. It effectively inhibits pipe corrosion and eliminates bacteria and algae, providing a comprehensive solution for water treatment.

WITHOUT HydroFLOW

Minerals like calcium carbonate, which is mainly responsible for limescale formation, are dissolved in the water as Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). When there is a change in temperature or pressure, these minerals precipitate out of the solution and form hard scale deposits in pipes, holding tanks, and on heating elements.

WITH HydroFLOW

When the Hydropath signal is active, dissolved minerals combine into loosely held clusters. As these clusters precipitate out of solution due to changes in temperature or pressure, they form stable calcite crystals in suspension, which do not accumulate as hard scale on the inner surfaces of pipes, holding tanks, or heating elements. This effectively prevents limescale buildup and eliminates the need for a water softener. With no new scale forming, the water flowing through the plumbing system gradually dissolves and removes existing scale buildup.

HydroFLOW Protects Your Property

HydroFLOW can be used to protect a range of residential applications, such as water heaters and appliances, as well as pools and spas. When it comes to commercial and industrial applications, it can be used for cooling towers, chillers, filtration systems, water features, steam boilers, belt filter presses, heat exchangers and more.
